Harry Stansbury is Of Counsel to the firm Reasonover & Olinde, L.L.C. He previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Securities for the State of Louisiana from 1975 to 2004 and was, at the time of his departure, one of the most senior state securities regulators in the United States. Mr. Stansbury has a BS degree from Louisiana State University, a juris doctor degree from Loyola University, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans, and a Masters in Computer Technology from Columbia University. He is a member of the Bars of Louisiana, New York, and the District of Columbia. Mr. Stansbury is currently a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee of the American Bar Association, previously serving on that Committee's Derivative Instruments Subcommittee, and has served as Chair of the Corporations Committee of the New Orleans Bar Association.
Mr. Stansbury has participated in virtually all aspects of securities regulation and the enforcement securities laws, including investigations involving derivative instruments, securitizations and collateral mortgage obligations (CMOs) purchased by the State's largest pension fund, the Louisiana State Employees Retirement System. He also has investigated the propriety of valuation of derivative instruments, securitizations and CMOs, contained in the portfolio of insurance companies qualifying to do business.
Mr. Stansbury has extensive experience in the analysis of prospectuses for securities offerings of derivative instruments, including various types of securitizations and CMOs, and he has supervised the examination of many brokerage firms who created, sold and invested in these derivative instrument products.
